WELCOME TO NADFAS EAST SURREY AREA
The National Association of Decorative & Fine
Arts Societies (NADFAS) was launched in 1968 by Patricia Fay with
11 societies and has expanded to over 330 societies in the UK,
10 in Europe, 28 in Australia and 2 in New Zealand, with 90,000
members worldwide. NADFAS works towards promoting and preserving
the arts through lectures, events, study days, visits and tours
at National, Area and Society level. The Association's concerns
include voluntary activities to maintain historic buildings, recording
churches and their contents and working towards developing the
arts for the young.
The Area Chairman represents the Area on the National Advisory
Council, speaking and raising issues of policy on its behalf. A
written report is made to the Trustees of NADFAS annually, detailing
major events, achievements and challenges within the Area.
The Area
Team offers support to the 15 NADFAS societies in East Surrey through
Area Meetings, Education events, an annual Programme Planning forum,
Training for new and potential committee members and with coordinating
Heritage Volunteers, Church Recording and Young Arts groups.
Each
society in East Surrey organises a full programme of lectures,
study days, visits and tours and contact details for individual
societies can be found on the “Societies” pages.
We look forward to welcoming you to one of our societies or an
Area event in the near future.
